As specified in UL 758, the date marking of the cable may be printed
legibly on the cable, in lieu of printing on the tag. Tags will state ¡°See
Surface Print for Manufacturing Date¡±. The date code shall follow the ¡°month
and year¡± or ¡°month, day and year¡± sequence (e.g. ¡°10/01¡±, ¡°Oct 01¡±,
¡°10/31/01¡± or ¡°Oct. 31, 01¡±, etc.), and shall be repeated at intervals of no
greater than 40 inches (1.02 meters) unless otherwise stated in the Follow-Up
Service Procedure. The date shall be shown in plain language, not in code.
