Nos. 24-10 AWG copper or nickel and Nos. 12-10 AWG aluminium or Nos. 27-20 AWG Resistance Wire; solid or stranded. Or Nos. 24-10 AWG solid or stranded coated high strength copper - min 90% conductivity, for 200°C rating uncoated or tinned strands of copper shall be 0.015 inch or larger in diameter. Aluminium conductors shall be permitted for a 90°C maximum operating temperature. Copper conductors may be tinned, silver or nickel plated, heat bonded or overcoated.

General. If the outer surface of the wire is PVC,XLPVC, PVDF, PE, XLPE, XLPO, or glass or cotton braid, the wire shall be surface printed. Surface printing on other materials is optional unless other-wise noted on the facing page.
1. Recognized's Company’s name or E number. 2. Plant identification, if made in more than one location. 3. DC voltage rating. 4. Temperature rating, if above 60°C. 5. Style No. 3239. 6. The Recognized Component Mark followed by the letters AWM or the words, Appliance Wiring Material. 7. (Optional) VW-1.
