TIA-EIA-568-B  Commercial Building Telecommunications Cabling Standard
TIA-EIA-568-B.1: Part1 General Requirements  -2001
Purpose
This Standard specifies a generic telecommunications cabling system for commercial buildings that will support a multi-product, multi-vendor environment. It also provides information that may be used for the design of telecommunications products for commercial enterprises.
The purpose of this Standard is to enable the planning and installation of a structured cabling system for commercial buildings. Installation of cabling systems during building construction or renovation is significantly less expensive and less disruptive than after the building is occupied.
This Standard establishes performance and technical criteria for various cabling system configurations for accessing and connecting their respective elements. In order to determine the requirements of a generic cabling system, performance requirements for various telecommunications services were considered.
The diversity of services currently available, coupled with the continual addition of new services, means that there may be cases where limitations to desired performance occur. When applying specific applications to these cabling systems, the user is cautioned to consult application standards,
regulations, equipment vendors, and system and service suppliers for applicability, limitations, and ancillary requirements.

TIA-EIA-568-B.2: Parts 2 Balanced Twisted-Pair Cabling Components -2001
Purpose
This Standard specifies cabling components, transmission performance, system models, and the
measurement procedures needed for verification of balanced twisted pair cabling. Requirements for four-pair balanced cabling systems are provided. This Standard also specifies field test instruments and applicable reference measurement procedures for all transmission parameters.

TIA-EIA-568-B.3: Optical Fiber Cabling Components Standard -2000
Purpose
This Standard specifies the component and transmission requirements for an optical fiber cabling system (e.g., cable, connectors). 50/125 mm and 62.5/125 mm multimode, and singlemode optical fiber cables are recognized cables.
